Ohio Hi-Point's Nancy J. Knight School of Nursing is approved by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Board of Nursing. The LPN program is highly-regarded in the state of Ohio and has led many people seeking fresh starts, career changes or dream-fulfillment to a career in the nursing industry. OHP offers the practical nursing at its main campus in Bellefontaine and through its satellite programs in Marysville and Urbana. ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
This 1440 clock-hour program prepares graduates to pass the Board of Nursing NCLEX licensing exam and work as an LPN in a variety of health care settings. The program offers a day 44-week program offered in Bellefontaine and Urbana; and an evening 88-week program at the main campus in Bellefontaine. A 72-week dual enrollment PN to RN program is offered in partnership with Clark State Community College at the Marysville location.
Pre-requisite courses in anatomy and physiology and computer applications are required before the start of first quarter classes. Instruction includes concurrent clincial experiences at area health facilities for nursing principles, medical-surgical nursing, maternal/infant health, gerontology, pediatric nursing, IV therapy, and pharmacology. Additional coursework includes nutrition, microbiology, mental health and illness, and growth and development.
ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Age 18 or older
- Application with official high school transcript or GED on file
- Pass Work Keys testing with Level 4 or above. Work Keys testing includes applied math, and reading for information and locating information
- Submit a State and Federal Background check
- Submit four references

LPN to RN TRANSITION PROGRAM AT OHP:
Clark State Community College classes are available at OHP's main campus or online through Clark State. Courses include those required for entry into Clark State's Nursing Transition LPN to RN program, as well as some that will meet program requirements for other technical programs and transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
