Success Stories

Since 1974, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center has been engaging minds and changing futures.  Our graduates at both the high school and adult education levels have left our school prepared for the workforce, prepared for college and prepared for life.  Here, we share some of the success stories of our students and alumni to showcase how Ohio Hi-Point can benefit you.

SHOWCASE OF SUCCESS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI

The Showcase of Success honors distinguished alumni who have made a significant contribution to their profession and community and those who have been civic-minded and have given back somehow to OHP.

The following criteria will be considered when selecting Ohio Hi-Point Career Center “Showcase of Success” inductees:

  • Graduated & completed a full-time career-training program at least 10 years prior
  • Has demonstrated distinction in career field
  • Has demonstrated social responsibility
  • Has given back to the community
  • Has given back to OHP

Nominations will be accepted from the staff and the general public.  Our next induction will take place during the 2010-2011 school year.  Nomination forms will be posted online when the nomination process begins.

Brittany Poe Class of 2009 Going to Ohio Hi-Point helped, as my grades went up while there, and it helped me accomplish my goals. Ohio Hi-Point changed my future because now I feel like I can accomplish anything.
Andrew Goings Class of 2009 I feel someone should attend OHP so they can be ahead of the game in the field in which they want to work in the future. Also, being able to meet new friends and still staying involved in activities that our home school offers is also a bonus. OHP changed my future by allowing me to be able to have a jump start in the landscaping field, which I studied here.
Miranda Fraley Class of 2009 What I loved most about OHP was my lab. I studied Health Technology and was able to focus on my goals and my future. I was also able to earn my STNA certification while in high school and earn some college credit before graduating.
William "Oscar" Baldwin, Adult Ed. Practical Nursing, Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine, Ohio 2006 I had always wanted to work in the medical field, and the time came in my life when I could get schooled as a nurse, and I took the opportunity to do so. The courses were tough, but the teachers were tougher and demanded we learn the material expected to become good nurses. The Ohio Hi-Point nursing program expects its graduates to be GOOD nurses!
Persie (Bolling) Nelson - Adult Ed. Phlebotomy, Hardin Memorial Hospital - Kenton, Ohio 1997 At Ohio Hi-Point, the coursework didn't take long and the cost was fair. It definitely prepared me for my job as a phlebotomist in the Hardin Memorial Hospital Lab. The instructors were wonderful and always had time for me.
