Program Description
This program provides students with a solid background to either enter the work field or further their education at a post-secondary technical school. Those entering this career area will gain the knowledge to use diagnostic resources and troubleshoot to repair equipment. A solid understanding of electronics can also be helpful in performance diagnostics, and students will find that many of the skills they learn in this class can transfer to other occupations.

  • Basic hand & power tool use
  • Safety procedures
  • Basic automotive repair
  • Diesel Theory
  • Engine systems including cooling, lubrication, exhaust and charging systems
  • Ignition, fuel, starting, fuel injection and carburetion
  • General chassis mechanics & adjustments.
  • MIG & TIG welding
  • Oxyacetylene & plasma cutting
  • Motorcycle mechanics
  • Snowmobile mechanics
  • Two & Four stroke-cycle engine Theory
