Automotive Technology (College Tech Prep)

Program Description
This College Tech Prep program teaches students everything from brake repair and motor tune-ups to major repairs such as front-end alignment, engine testing, transmission repair and engine overhaul. Students also learn to troubleshoot computer-controlled automotive systems. In addition, they learn to rebuild and replace automotive parts and learn cost estimation. This program has attained national Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) certification. Students who successfully complete the program are prepared for A.S.E. Certification.

This College Tech Prep program works cooperatively with the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, where students receive advanced college credit and scholarships if continuing their education. Job placement through School-To-Work allows students to begin their career prior to high school graduation.
Students are members of Skills-USA, the nation’s largest career-technical student organization.
