Program Length: 2 Years

Program Description
This program prepares students for employment in the electrical trades. They will also learn residential and commercial wiring, as well as installation and maintenance of electronic controls in business and industry. Instruction is based upon the National Electric Code and state and local building codes. Students learn the various electrical systems while progressing at their own pace through the curriculum. They also learn how to connect electric motors used with industrial equipment. The Construction Trades programs are accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research. (NCCER) Students who complete this program will receive one year of credit toward a four-year apprenticeship program.

Post Secondary Options
Graduates of this program may enroll in 2-year technical programs in construction management or electrical technology. They may also attend 4-year colleges in the area of electrical engineering.
Students can gain experience by working at a job in the field with pay while still in high school through the School-To-Work program.
Students are members of Skills-USA, the nation’s largest career technical student organization.
