Satellites host first annual Senior Celebration, honor student success
BELLEFONTAINE – 119 seniors will successfully complete studies in Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s workforce development Satellite programs in the coming weeks. To celebrate the success of their students, instructors and staff held the first annual “Senior Satellite Celebration” at Ohio Hi-Point’s Bellefontaine campus Tuesday evening honoring outstanding seniors in most programs, recognizing scholarship winners, perfect attendance and passing out certificates of completion.
Students named “Outstanding Seniors” included:
• Derek Snider in Agricultural Business/Production at Kenton High School
• Ethan Hunt in Agricultural Business/Production at Upper Scioto Valley High School
• Charles Tolley in Aviation Occupations at Grimes Field in Urbana
• Phallon Manning in Biomedical Science at Marysville High School
• Kiley Bowman in Biomedical Science at the Urbana South Campus
• Brett Nolan in Construction Technology at the Marysville Satellite
• Shrutva Patel in Health Technology at Marysville High School
• Jena Couch in Information Technology/Interactive Media at Graham High School
• Mason Wagner in Supply Chain Management at Urbana High School
• Katie King in Teaching Professions Academy at Bellefontaine High School
• Murissa Young in Teaching Professions Academy at the Urbana South Campus
• Allison Mazza in Teaching Professions Academy at Marysville High School
• Brady Pickford in Teaching Professions Academy at Marysville High School
Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s Satellites began in 2004 with seven programs and in one location, Graham High School. Today, Ohio Hi-Point services approximately 1,000 students in various Satellite classes and workforce development programming in five counties. Workforce development programs include Health Technology, Financial Services, High School of Business, Information Technology/Interactive Media, Information Technology/Support & Service, Teaching Professions Academy, Construction Technology, Aviation Occupations, Agricultural Business/Production, Agricultural Foundations, Biomedical Science and Supply Chain Management.
