295 seniors bid farewell to OHP at Convocation
295 seniors in the Class of 2010 from Ohio Hi-Point Career Center took part in the annual Convocation Ceremony, held at Bellefontaine High School on June 3, 2010. During the ceremony, students took the lead and spoke, read poems and led the services, and each student received their Career Passports, signifying the successful completion of their career-technical training programs.
School Counselor Lynne Hall spoke to the students and the crowd and noted that this class earned more scholarship money (nearly $165,000 and counting), more students in this class took the ACT, more students in this class visited colleges and more students in this class will continue their studies at college after Ohio Hi-Point, than any previous class in the school's 36-year history. With more than 45% of the class continuing their education, in part because of the college credit earned while at Hi-Point, it was noted the school has become a place where not only are students prepared for careers, but also it is a place they are prepared for collegiate study and advancement.
