Business Partners
Ohio Hi-Point Career Center is aligned with business and industry, meeting workforce demands and helping to shape our region's economic development.
Our high school students complete practical work experiences, internships, apprenticeships, and study in state-of-the-art labs that are consistently working on projects that are given to our various programs on the advice of our business and industry advisory boards, which consist of people in the business community. Our adult education division proactively responds and shapes its offerings to the ever-changing job market. Adult education by nature is beneficial because of its flexibility and ability to adapt to an evolving economy and workforce. By working with various businesses, OHP stands on the threshold of being able to shape Ohio's workforce, prepare students for college, and help high school students and adult learners earn higher wages and have a solid future.
A sampling of our business partnerships include:
- Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine provides clinical space for students in both our high school and adult health occupations and nursing programs
- Honda of America, Mfg., one of Ohio's largest manufacturers, sits in OHP's school district and partners with the district to provide customized training through our adult education manufacturing programs, as well as partnering with the high school to shape their future workforce needs in engineering
- U-Co Industries in Marysville is partnered with OHP's Construction Technology High School Satellite Program to build houses for people with disabilities in Union County
- Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana allows OHP's Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science program to call it's facilities home. The hospital has also allowed for clinical space for OHP's Practical Nursing Adult Education Program
- OHP's Cosmetology program is partnered with Paul Mitchell Salons and is an official Paul Mitchell laboratory
- Ohio Hi-Point's Construction Trades programs work with local construction and contracting companies to build a house every school year, which is then sold in the community. They also partnered with the Logan County Bureau of Convention and Tourism to build the Logan County Visitor's Center
- OHP has partnered with Union County Memorial Hospital to provide clinical space for the adult and high school nursing programs
