CULINARY ARTS
Students will gain the experience needed to either work in the restaurant industry, pursue additional Culinary Arts training to become a chef, or a combination of both. While running the Sloan Inn Restaurant on campus, students work with a variety of foods, flavors, and spices. This ProStart program is accredited through the Ohio Restaurant Association and students have the opportunity to earn a ProStart Certification.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Learn measurements, knife cuts, and food safety and sanitation.
Understand flavor palettes and how to create a food menu.
Develop your customer service skills as you manage the "front" of the restaurant business.
Hone your craft of cooking as you serve up delicious meals in the Sloan Inn.
Bake cakes, pies, and decadent desserts.

Whatever your pathway, whether it's employment, enrollment, or enlistment, the Culinary Arts program will provide you the opportunities to reach your goals through valued industry certifications, exposure to our college partners, and by taking advantage of our Work-Based Learning program. Students can go on to become chefs, restaurant managers, bakers, dietitians, or start their own business.
