CULINARY ARTS

Cook Up Success: From Kitchen to Career in Culinary Arts!

If you enjoy being creative in the kitchen or want to learn how to cook for yourself and others, the Culinary Arts program is a great place to start. Whether you're considering a career in the culinary world or just want to build skills that will serve you for a lifetime, this program offers a fun and welcoming environment to explore food, flavors, and cooking techniques. Students learn everything from knife skills and food safety to menu planning and presentation, all while gaining real-world experience running the The Sloan Kitchen Restaurant—our on-campus restaurant open to the public.

Throughout the two-year program, students work hands-on with a wide variety of ingredients and recipes, gaining confidence in the kitchen while learning how to follow (and eventually customize) standardized recipes. You’ll explore hospitality, customer service, and nutrition while building teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.

As part of the ProStart program—accredited by the Ohio Restaurant Association—you’ll have the opportunity to earn certifications that can help you enter the workforce or continue your training.
