Longtime Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Board of Education President Anne Reames was honored Wednesday evening for her dedication to the healthcare field and her pursuit of lifelong learning as we unveiled the newly named Anne Reames Healthcare Academy.
"Ohio Hi-Point is proud to reveal the newly named Reames Healthcare Academy in honor of Anne Reames, a career nurse and healthcare advocate, lifelong learner, dedicated community member, and 20 year OHP board member," said Ohio Hi-Point Superintendent Dr. Rick Smith.
Friends, family, and community leaders were on campus to celebrate the occasion. Health Careers instructors Megan Lacher and Tammy Newland as well as Exercise Science instructor Heather Smith provided demonstrations on the Anatomage Table, a 3D Anatomy and Virtual Dissection table, and the CAE Ares manikin.
"I've dedicated my whole career to nursing," said Reames. "You have to have a passion and be willing to continually learn and keep up with the changing technology. Our students are ready for the workforce coming through our programs. I'm just extremely grateful for this honor and to be a part of their journey."
The wall graphic was designed, printed, and installed by the Graphic and Media Arts Academy students. Fast Track Signs in Bellefontaine served as the industry mentor on the project. Construction Trades installed the acrylic frames.
