Ohio Hi-Point’s Diesel students recently celebrated the arrival of two new semi-trucks to the career program lab. On Tuesday, Sept. 19, Meijer, a privately-owned and family-operated multi-billion-dollar retailer, donated two 2017 semi-trucks to the program and delivered them to campus.
Previously, the newest truck models students were working on were from 2007. The two 2017 semi-trucks not only help bring the program up to date but also incorporate after treatment technology, a crucial aspect of the modern diesel industry that focuses on emissions reduction.
"These trucks keep our diesel program relevant to the industry," said Paul Morton, OHP Diesel Instructor. "They provide our students with additional opportunities for hands-on learning, and they create and generate excitement among our students about the future of the diesel field."
