The Ohio Hi-Point/Indian Lake High School (OHP/ILHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA) teams excelled at the recent State Finals, with the Poultry team placing third and the Dairy and Nature Interpretation teams finishing in the top ten.

The OHP/ILHS FFA Poultry team clinched the third position in the state, an achievement that will be celebrated with a banner presentation at the upcoming FFA State Convention this Friday. The team’s success was highlighted by the standout performance of Carlie Nickel, who outshone 259 other competitors to secure her rank as the number one individual competitor in the state.

Poultry team members include:

In addition to the poultry team’s achievements, the OHP/ILHS FFA Dairy team also made a mark by finishing 10th in the state, earning them a plaque, which they'll receive at the FFA State Convention. The team members are:

  • Seth Thornburgh

  • Garrett Hough

  • Ashlynn Biederman

  • Augusta Biederman

The OHP/ILHS FFA Nature Interpretation team also placed 10th in their category, earning a plaque, which will be awarded during the FFA State Convention. The team members include:

  • Anne Braig

  • Taylor Karbowiak

  • Seth Thornburgh

  • Courtney Altstaetter

Under the guidance of FFA advisor and Agricultural instructor Kelsey King, these students have demonstrated their commitment and expertise in various aspects of agricultural education.
