Ohio Hi-Point Career Center students recently concluded a successful two-day event focused on hands-on learning and community involvement during the school-wide Professional Experience Days, held from November 21-22, 2024. The initiative provided students with diverse learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom, with opportunities in career exploration, college readiness, work-based learning, and community service.
Students who opted for the Community Service pathway took the chance to give back to their community by volunteering with various local organizations. This year, the selected organizations included Discovery Riders, New Path Pregnancy Center, Union Station, and Our Daily Bread, all based in Bellefontaine.
At Discovery Riders, students assisted with cleaning stalls and caring for the horses. At New Path Pregnancy Center, they helped create hospital bags and baby care bags for new mothers. Volunteers at Union Station completed painting projects, while those at Our Daily Bread helped make sandwiches, stock shelves, and decorate for the holidays.
These activities allowed Ohio Hi-Point students to make a meaningful impact in their community while gaining valuable skills and experience. The school remains committed to preparing students for future success by providing real-world learning opportunities that help them explore their interests and contribute to their communities.
