I chose Ohio Hi-Point because: I had the ability to further myself and my career choices.
I'm involved in the following OHP activities: NTHS, Student Showcases, Interning at Logan County Sheriff's Office and Jail. Through my lab I was involved in Animal Presentations at various schools, FFA Nature Interpretation, Wildlife Management, Animal Science CDE's. I was also Treasurer my junior year and up for President my senior year but we were not able to have our final vote because of COVID-19.
My favorite part about Ohio Hi-Point is: Lab. I gained so many friends in lab because of all of our similar interests and how much we were able to bond over simple things. We got to go on many trips but it made us feel like a family. I was able to do many things to further and alter my career choices.
My most memorable moment at Ohio Hi-Point was: Having Ms.Curley use me as an example as to why students should come to Hi-Point. She told them my story as to why I can to Hi-Point and changes I made to my career and furthered myself to hitting that goal.
What surprised me most about Ohio Hi-Point was: How accepting the teachers were about having you there and being able to talk to them without feeling judged. They want to help you there rather than just get you through.
The teacher who has had the biggest impact on me is: Mr. Gilbert or Ms. Curley. I didn't have Mr. Gilbert except for my senior year but within that year he has helped me a ton with everything I had going on and even helped with other class work I was having problems with.
My advice to students who may be looking to apply to Ohio Hi-Point is: If they have your program go for it. It is so nice to have a fresh start and to be able to get out and work with the industry you want to go into.
After graduation: Attending Hocking College where I will be taking Natural Resources Law Enforcement.
Industry Credentials or College Credits earned: I have earned credits in English 1600 and 1111. As well as Calculous.
