I chose Ohio Hi-Point because: I really wanted to further my education in Outdoor Careers and get a head start on my future.
I'm involved in the following OHP activities: I am a member of the FFA. I was chosen to represent Ohio-Hi Point at the National Collegiate Landscape Competition. I was also a member of the winning team at the Ohio High School Landscape Olympics while also winning my own event.
My favorite part about Ohio Hi-Point is: My favorite part about Hi-Point is probably getting to be taught by Mr. Carpenter, he established a hands-on learning system from day 1 and it’s really helped me turn into the student I am.
My most memorable moment at Ohio Hi-Point was: Winning as a team at the Ohio High School Landscape Olympics while also winning cost estimating on my own.
What surprised me most about Ohio Hi-Point was: The amount of connections I’ve been able to make with companies and people.
The teacher who has had the biggest impact on me is: Mr. Carpenter, without him I wouldn’t be going into a job right out of high school. He’s really led me in the right directions both years and he’s really changed my life.
My advice to students who may be looking to apply to Ohio Hi-Point is: If you have any sort of interest in coming here I think it would be a really good idea to try it out. I didn’t know what I was going to do after high school, now I’m set up to be successful no matter what path I choose.
After graduation: More than likely going straight into the workforce
