CALAMITY DAY INFORMATION

Ohio Hi-Point built five calamity days into the school calendar. The district has one remaining calamity day, which will be used to cover any remaining two-hour delays. Due to this,  if Ohio Hi-Point cancels school going forward, these days will be Remote Learning Days for all students.

Please read the information below on Ohio Hi-Point's plans for remote learning, attendance, and when that information will be communicated.

What if a two-hour delay is called?   No attendance or remote learning will take place. Students will report two hours later and follow the two-hour delay schedule.

What if a two-hour delay moves to a cancellation day?  Students will treat this day like they are at OHP, but follow their schedule remotely. Therefore, remote classes start at 10:15 a.m. on the two-hour delay schedule for students who would normally report in person. Students who are normally remote learners will log in by 10:45 a.m.

If a cancellation day is called the night before or by 6 a.m.?  Students treat this day like they are at OHP, but follow their schedule remotely. For attendance, students who were scheduled to attend in person will need to be logged on for lab/classes by 8:15 a.m. For students who were scheduled for a remote learning day, they will need to be logged on for lab/classes by 8:45 a.m.

Per state requirements, students need to receive a minimum of 1,001 hours of instruction. What if we go below 1001 hours?  We will make the hours up by our scheduled make-up days in person or remotely.

In the event of a cancellation calamity day, Superintendent Dr. Smith will continue to notify all students and parent(s)/guardian(s) via our all-call system and will provide clarification and direction on instruction for the day.
