Today, students at OHP were treated to a motivational session by LaVonna Roth, Founder and CEO of Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E.®, focusing on personal growth and leadership. Roth's program emphasizes the power of recognizing and developing one’s strengths, passions, and potential.
S.H.I.N.E. stands for:
💡Self: Valuing one’s talents and skills.
💡Heart: Leveraging passion in everything you do.
💡Inspire: Keeping yourself and others motivated.
💡Navigate: Taking actions towards future goals.
💡Exceptional: Realizing your true potential.
Roth encouraged students to "shine" by combining self-awareness with action, aiming to inspire both personal success and positive influence on others.
Our cosmetology students dove into the world of natural foods in skincare! 🌱✨ Instead of reaching for the usual bottles and jars, students (maybe a bit begrudgingly) embraced using cucumbers, bananas, yogurt, oats, honey, and potatoes to give facials. 🧖♀️🍃
They explored the properties of these natural ingredients and their effects on the skin. Each of these foods, rich in vitamins and minerals, plays a role in fighting oxidation and reducing inflammation, offering a holistic approach to skincare. 💆♀️

Today, we're excited to have Jennifer Stokes from Ohio Special Response Team (OSRT) - Search and Rescue with us, alongside her incredible dogs, Baloo and Karma! 🐕 Jennifer spoke to our Animal Science students about training her dogs and how they work through a search. Baloo and Karma also demonstrated their alert signals during a quick training exercise and gave our students an insider's view on how search dogs operate.
